Desert Island Top 5 Favorite Foods!
Since I've been blogging about food, I feel as if I've been able to connect with more people on a topic that everyone has a near and dear opinion about. I mean, lets be honest, there is no one that says, "No, I don't really like food". However, we all have our own faves and unique flavors that appeal to our senes so here are mine:
1. Pizza... I could eat cheese pizza for every meal for the rest of my life. If it's bad pizza, it will give me heart burn, but I'll eat it anyway. The delicate marriage of cheese, sauce and dough is something that I can never get sick of. Thin crust, thick crust, hot, cold, I don't care. As I mentioned in a previous blog, my favorite pizza is from New York, specifically from this place in the Bronx called "Full Moon". If you ever get a chance to head to "the real Little Italy" in the Bronx, you have to grab a slice from "Full Moon". Semolina flower is baked on to the bottom of the crust, which is crispy and savory with just the right amount of seasoning, the sauce is a homemade style chunky tomato sauce that has just the right texture as to keep the cheese from sliding off, and the cheese... oh the cheese! A heaping mound of mozzarella cheese cooked to perfection to the point where it begins to bubble and just brown on top... Fold that baby in half and you have yourself a little slice of heaven...
