Cruizin for a Cure Relay for Life Team, in Milford, will be holding a drawing for a Handmade queen size quilt and 2008 Vera Bradley Curvy Tote. Tickets are $2 or 3 tickets for $5. Clayton Fire company will host a Longaberger and Vera Bradley Bingo on Wednesday, May 14th. Doors open at 6 p.m., games start at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $20, $25 at the door. 50/50 raffle, snacks and refreshments. Proceeds will benefit the Clayton Fire Company new building fund.

Dover Montessori Country Day Academy needs your help. On May 31st, they are closing their current home and need help in funding a new building in Magnolia. The Parent Association is putting together a "Big Give" for the school on May 16th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino. There will be a silent auction, entertainment and much more. 51st Annual Hospital Fair
The Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary 51st annual Hospital Fair will be held on Saturday May 16th and 17th at the Milford High School. This year's theme is And the beat goes on. A Homemade Lasagna dinner will be held May 16th in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for children. The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine on May 17th. Opening ceremonies and kids activities will begin at 10 a.m. There will be food, booths and information for everyone.

The Second Street Players will hold auditions for Oscar and Felix, a New Look at the Odd Couple on May 18th and 19th at 7 p.m. in the Riverfront Theatre, Milford. Needed are six males, ages 30-60 and two females, ages 20-40. Show dates are July 11-13 and 18-20th. For more information call 422-0220.

Ride of Silence
the 6th annual Ride of Silence will be held on May 21st at 7 p.m. The ride of silence is in memory of and in honor of those not with us. The ride will be slow, maximum 12 miles per hour for a total of 8 miles. There will be no talking, only silence to remember fallen brothers and sisters. The ride is free and will start at the Tile Market parking lot behind WAWA on the west side of Rt. 1, Rehoboth Beach.

There will be a Texas Hold em tournament on May 24th at the Houston Vol. Fire Company. Doors open at 5 p.m., games start at 7 p.m. Not familiar with Texas Hold Em Tournaments. Bus Trip
Appalachian Cherokee Nation, Inc., Delaware region, will sponsor a bus trip to the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. on May 31st. Bus will depart Walmart parking lot, Milford at 8:00 a.m. Cost is $36.50 for adults, $20 children, 12 and under. Must be be made by May 20th. 22nd Annual Greenwood Spring Festival will be held on June 7th on the grounds of the Greenwood Mennonite School. This is a rain or shine event. The Carlisle Fire Company will sponsor their annual fire prevention and safety open house on Sunday, June 8th from 12 to 3 p.m. The focus of the event will be to demonstrate the importance of fire prevention and safety. There will be vendors, apparatus from old to new, face painting, food, demonstrations, and plenty of fun for the whole family.

Kids Fest 2008
Greater Milford Boys and Girls Clubs will present Kids Fest 2008, a day for kids will be held on Saturday, June 14th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, Harrington. Kids Fest features a Quarter Horse Show, pony and cart rides and a petting zoo. The inflatable fair will feature huge inflatables, bounces, slides, maze and an obstacle course. Carnival games and trains ride add to the fun. THe youth talent show will be held too. Admission is $3 per adult, free for kids and parking is free. Ride and game tickets are 25 for $5.
